For the Council Bluffs and Omaha metro-area.

See real results, gain relief from your joint pain.

What is causing my joint pain?

In many cases, the pain is caused by arthritis that occurs when the cartilage inside the joint space has worn down over time. This causes your bones in your shoulders or knees to rub against each other, resulting in pain and inflammation.

Fix the Problem

Do more than just mask your symptoms with steroids or pain medications. We address the cause by adding layers of natural cushioning into your joint space to prevent your bones from rubbing together. The process is known as viscosupplementation.

Covered by Most Insurances

Click here for a list of insurance companies that cover treatment. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. Call our helpful staff if your insurance is not listed.

Avoid Surgery & Seek Medical Advice

With better patient outcomes than many joint replacement surgeries, the viscosupplementation treatment program can help you avoid a painful and expensive surgery.

No Downtime

Unlike a joint replacement surgery, there is virtually no downtime with viscosupplementation. Many patients return to work immediately after their treatments! This series of injections is non-invasive and supports natural lubrication of the joint.

You'd be surprised how quickly your knee pain improves!

Curious about the treatment process?

The simple steps below illustrate a common treatment protocol. It is important to remember, however, that the doctors and medical staff at Essence Med Health Center will tailor your joint pain treatment program to your unique healthcare goals.

Free Consultation

Every treatment program begins with a complimentary, one-on-one consultation with one of our doctors. During this step, an Essence Med doctor or nurse practitioner will explain our innovative treatment protocol.

Treat the Symptons

You will receive one painless injection per week over a period of 1-2 weeks. During these visits, we will treat the painful swelling in your joint . This relief is fast-acting but temporary.

Fix the Problem

Once the swelling has subsided, we will add “cushioning” and “lubrication” back into your joint. We will inject one layer of cushioning each week for a period of up to 5 weeks. This provides lasting relief.
