Using the latest technology, we will assess the function of your nervous system. Your Day 1 appointment will be a complete, but easy evaluation. Below we will walk through your first day in our office! By revealing any neurological issues that may be impacting your health, we can help you plan a program to achieve maximum health and function.

Our Office Tour
We’ll give you a quick tour through our office. We love showing our warm, new chiropractic office. Our team is what makes us so different and how we do things at Essence keeps it extremely efficient for our practice members. This is a great time for you to ask questions and meet our team.
The Consultation
The Essence team will review your paperwork and health goals while also sharing information about nerve interference, what it is, and how principled chiropractic care can address your core health plan. During this time you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about your health and chiropractic care.
The Neurological Chiropractic Assessment
Our thorough assessment, using the latest technology in measuring muscle activity and compensation, will evaluate the location and severity of stress and nerve interference in your body. Like an EKG measures your heart, we use the same technology to assess subluxatations in your spine. Diagnosing through this method allows us to fully understand the state of your health. We do this in order to provide you and your family with the best possible care through a clear and concise path.
Additionally, our procedures are incredibly non-invasive and involve zero pricking, poking, or prodding. This is a quick and easy procedure, so you can wear your normal clothing, but due to the need for the the technology to be on direct skin, we recommend you wear a shirt and pants in order to trade the shirt for an open-backed medical gown during the assessment. It generally takes less than 5 minutes to conduct.
The Chiropractic Postural X-Ray
While they are not always necessary, the final step of your initial visit is to have specific chiropractic postural x-rays. Conveniently located in our office, our digital state of the art x-ray suite is professional, simple, safe, and only takes a few minutes to complete because it is on site at our Council Bluffs office!
The Insurance Benefits Check
We will find out how and to what extent your insurance will cover your chiropractic treatments and discuss the financial options with you. Many of our practice members opt into our Federal Discount Program, which allows us to legally discount our chiropractic care if selecting not to run through your insurance agency. We pay to be a member of this program as a way to offer affordable chiropractic adjustments for everyone in the Council Bluffs, Omaha, and surrounding communities.
The New Patient Orientation
Following your chiropractic assessment, you will be scheduled for your Doctor’s Report. During this appointment, Dr. TJ presents more information on chiropractic care and health. After this, we will review findings from your assessment and x-rays, and discuss the doctor’s recommendations for care. In that same appointment you may receive your first adjustment. Chiropractic adjustments are gentle enough for children, and specific enough to benefit any health condition you may encounter.
